Journal of Optics :
Jornal of Optics is being regularly published since 1972. The Journal is into its 48th volume and is being co-published with M/s Springer since the 39th volume. Prof.L.N.Hazra is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Optics (India).
The Journal of Optics publishes research papers on results of original and applied research of sufficient merit in all branches of optical physics and technology such as science of vision, colour, photometry, illumination, optical/opto-electronic materials and devices, optical testing and standardisation, spectroscopy, lasers, holography, fibre optics, non-linear optics, optical and opto-electronic systems and instruments, image processing, optical computing etc. Review articles and literature citations on various aspects of optics are also welcome. The following resolution was adopted in the 51st AGM regarding the Society's initiative to publish Research Mononographs: § The expertise of OSI Fellow Members should be utilized for creating research monographs based on the research done by the fellow. § Ideally, these monographs, typically a combination of tutorial review and research review, should start from the very basics of the topic and lead towards the latest developments in the field in about 50-80 pages and should not exceed 100 pages. § Other monographs about research institutions, research groups, historical notes, etc., of interest to optics community will also welcome under this scheme. § OSI will e-publish these in its website and will be freely available for download. § Copyright of published monographs will be with OSI but that of the content will be with the author. Thus the author may use the material in another publication provided that the publisher of the latter has no objection. § Proposals received will be peer reviewed. § Final manuscript will be submitted in the format prescribed for uploading on the website. § OSI will also consider a modest grant (maximum Rs. 10,000) to defray the manuscript preparation costs involved.
